Over the seasons of Friends, there are many kind moments from each of the friends. These kind moments are rarer for some of the friends than they are for others, but there are still many potential picks for each of the friends.

6. Ross: Buying Phoebe A Bike

In what is probably one of the sweetest plots of the show, Ross buys Phoebe a pink bike with a basket just like the bike she describes being on the box she was dragged about in as a kid.

The episode sees Ross help Phoebe build up the courage to ride her bike with the episode ending with Phoebe finally riding her bike… with stabilisers.

5. Joey: Helping Out The Woman Giving Birth in the Hospital

In the episode where Carol gives birth in Season 1, Joey finds himself spending time with a woman who many consider to be his “one that got away” while she gives birth all by herself.

Towards the end of the episode, Joey goes to return to the hospital room with balloons to find the woman with the father of her baby.

4. Phoebe: Being A Surrogate

The plot of Phoebe being the surrogate for her half brother and his much older wife was written in as a result of Lisa Kudrow being pregnant in real life and made for probably the most selfless act of the whole show.

Phoebe goes through nine months of pregnancy and delivers triplets at the start of Season 5, who we then later see a little more grown up in Season 10.

3. Rachel: Letting Her Sister Stay With Her

In Amy Greene’s Season 10 appearance, Rachel talks her out of marrying an old guy for money and allows her to move in with her to help her find her feet career wise.

This is a very selfless thing of Rachel to do given the selfish nature of Amy. Ultimately, later in the episode Amy gets baby Emma’s ears pierced which leads to Rachel kicking her out of the apartment.

2. Monica: Giving Rachel Her Baby Name

It is no secret throughout the seasons of Friends that Monica wants to have kids and in the episode where Rachel gives birth, it is revealed that she has had the name “Emma” picked out for her daughter since she was young.

Upon hearing this name, it is very clear that Rachel wants to use the name herself. In a selfless act, Monica tells Rachel that she wants her to have the name.

1. Chandler: Giving His “She’s a Mother Without a Baby” Speech

In Season 10, Monica and Chandler discover they have been accidentally contacted by the adoption agency and pretend to be the people selected by Erika, the birth mother. Erika is upset to learn they lied to her and says that she does not want to give them the baby.

Chandler follows Erika out into the hall where he gives her a touching speech about how he is prepared to become a good father, but his wife Monica is already “there” and is a mother without a baby. The speech makes Erika change her mind and ultimately leads to the successful adoption of their children.
